Upper merion area school district collective bargaining agreement

The Upper Merion Area Education Association (UMAEA) represents the teachers and staff of Upper Merion Area Schools, serving Bridgeport, Upper Merion, and West Conshohocken.

The UMAEA strives to safeguard quality education in the Upper Merion Area School District by providing a variety of services to its members and the Upper Merion community.

For its 320 members, the UMAEA is the negotiating body in collective bargaining, the guardian of an established contract, and an important link to services such as professional development, government support for education, and the maintenance of a stable retirement plan.

In an effort to provide the best education and opportunities for Upper Merion students, Association members work with the District to create and implement quality instructional, extracurricular and developmental programs for students and teachers.

Members sit on committees, such IAC and Technology, participate in the hiring of colleagues and administrators, and take a stand against Board or Administrative policies that conflict with the best interests of our students.

The UMAEA also supports the Upper Merion Community by awarding a scholarship each year to an Upper Merion senior and through contributions to the Family Assistance Fund, which helps provide for Upper Merion families in need.
